Contract Ratification Results 

904 eligible voters participated in the ratification vote, representing 59% of all eligible.

Section 1 was approved 708 to 195, representing 78% approving to 22% rejecting.
Section 2 was approved 414 to 140, representing 75% approving to 25% rejecting.
Section 3 was approved 23 to 20, representing 53% approving to 47% rejecting.
Section 4 was approved 39 to 18, representing 68% approving to 32% rejecting.
Section 5 was approved 63 to 35, representing 64% approving to 36% rejecting.
Section 6 was approved 125 to 28, representing 82% approving to 18% rejecting.

PAF-AFT Local 857 Seeks Volunteers for Local Hurricane Relief Effort

Earlier this week, the PAF- AFT 857 was asked to join the Perth Amboy relief effort for victims of Hurricane Katrina who may be temporarily resettling in Perth Amboy. Our organization was asked to assist with the educational transition of students who have been indefinitely displaced from their schools.

Negotiations Update Sept. 9

Nearly seven months to the day these negotiations began on February 10th, the parties have signed a Memorandum of Agreement, identifying all of the terms and conditions proposed for a new 3-year agreement.

PERTH AMBOY OPENS ITS HEARTS AND HOMES TO KATRINA VICTIMS 



As you know, one hundred families from New Orleans will be finding temporary relief housing in Delaney Homes. The first family could arrive as early as next Friday announced Mayor Joseph Vas at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon. The Mayor's team which is being chaired by Kathleen DePow and Councilman Frank Sinatra is seeking support and assistance in making these families feel part of our community. The Perth Amboy Federation is proud to be part of this team.

How can you help?

Tentative Settlement Reached
